An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
